This episode looks at how young people in the area are lured into criminal gangs and highlights the importance of community engagement in tackling antisocial behaviour in the locality. Viewers follow Sergeant John O’Reilly, Sergeant Selina Proudfoot and Garda Dwayne O’Brien as they interact with the youth of The K, forging relationsh­ips on a daily basis in a bid to stop a life of crime taking root at a young age.

THE pedigree of this 1944 classic is impeccable – screenplay by Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler based on James M Cain’s novel, direction by Wilder, music by Miklós Rózsa, and a cast led by Fred MacMurray, Edward G Robinson and Barbara Stanwyck (pictured with MacMurray) in an Oscarnomin­ated turn. A tale of lust that leads to a murder plot and insurance fraud, it led to a slew of imitators in the film noir genre.

Logan (2017) 15, 9PM, FILM4

HUGH Jackman’s Wolverine has seen better days in this mighty and final outing for the hero – and for his ailing X-Men colleague Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). The movie follows the pair as they defend a young mutant named Laura from the villains who are out to get her. This is the tenth film in the X-Men series, and as well as conspiracy, threat and action, it manages to reflect on ageing and youth in an impressive­ly powerful and heartfelt way.
