Caprice, 48: I keep my looks frozen in time... by standing in a freezer!
SHE might be nearing 50, but Caprice Bourret is looking as cool and fresh-faced as ever.
Now the model has shared the secret to those youthful looks – she apparently stands in a ‘big freezer’ for three minutes a day.
The treatment – called cryotherapy – is said to reduce inflammation and psychological stress and increase energy. The mother-oftwo told Closer magazine: ‘I go for a daily freeze. It’s literally a room with a big freezer, which you stand in for three minutes and freeze your ass off. It’s a whole body shock, but it can heal your muscles, invigorate your skin and boost your immune system.’
Ms Bourret, 48 – who took part in this year’s Dancing On Ice, which aired on Virgin Media One – first tried cryotherapy to heal shin splints before the competition. Posting about stepping into a ‘-100 degrees’ ice chamber on Instagram, she wrote: ‘At first I thought this is mad. But I am desperate to get rid of these shin splints. I walked in and freaked out... couldn’t breathe very well and of course was shocked by the temperature.
‘But then I calmed myself down and stayed for the duration. When I got out my body tingled everywhere but wow I felt amazing.’
Ms Bourret said it helped her shin splints and that she then became ‘addicted’ to the treatment.
Dr Mohammed Enayat, co-founder of LMS Wellness health centre in London, said: ‘Exposing your body to extreme cold has a vast number of physiological benefits.’
