SUPERHERO FAMILY The Umbrella Academy, Netflix
THE dysfunctional superhero family land in Sixties Dallas for this new, ten-part season, and the apocalypse isn’t far behind. What really matters on this show is not the plot, though, but the relationships between its oddball characters — along with the witty banter and the exquisitely styled sets, they make it so engaging.
MOVIE REBOOT Charlie’s Angels, 8pm, Sky Premiere
AFTER her Twilight years, Kristen Stewart starred in a series of low-key indie dramas. Her comeback to the Hollywood mainstream was in this update of the spy caper, as a rebellious Angel, joined by fellow recruits Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska (pictured with Stewart).
INSPIRING SONGS Gospel According To Mica, 9pm, BBC4
IN THIS enlightening documentary, the soul singer tells the fascinating history of six gospel classics, including Amazing Grace and Oh Happy Day. It’s an uplifting affair, with Mica performing with the Kingdom Choir and Jools Holland.

THE Vice Unit have been called to a construction site to investigate claims of molestation — and, in a nice small touch of comedy, the twitchy Kevin keeps his safety helmet on indoors. (Hannah is much more blase.) A twist comes when the supposed victim claims it never happened, so what’s going on?
LAW ENFORCERS NCIS: New Orleans, 9pm, Fox
THE team barely get a look-in this week as Pride (Scott Bakula), still plagued by terrible dreams and refusing medication in traditional alpha male fashion, pursues a 20-year-old case — the first case he and Loretta worked together. It takes him to New York, and a race against time.
CRIME WAVES Reef Break, 9pm, Alibi
THERE’S more trouble in paradise when Reef Island’s first women’s surfing competition takes a deadly turn. Fixer Cat Chambers is called in to clean up the mess, which involves a rival from her surfer days.
RADIO STARS The Last Pirates: Britain’s Rebel DJs, 10pm, BBC4
DURING the Eighties, the number of pirate radio stations in Britain exploded as a reaction to the relative pop blandness of the likes of Radio 1. This wave gave us talent such as Trevor Nelson and Gilles Peterson, who became fixtures on BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music.
SEVENTIES SCI-FI Phase IV, 10pm, Talking Pictures TV
ANTS are on the rampage — having developed a hive-mind intelligence — in this cult sci-fi chiller. It’s directed by the designer Saul Bass, better-known for his Hitchcock title sequences.
