CRITICS' CHOICE
IN GOOD SPIRITS Ghosts, 9pm, RTÉ2
THE endearingly silly sitcom continues as Alison (pictured) does her best to ignore her ghostly housemates. Unfortunately, they all know she can see and hear them. Meanwhile, Mike’s DIY disasters cause major disruptions for Lady Button.
TOPPLED DICTATOR Once Upon A Time In Iraq, 9pm, BBC2
PART four of this documentary deals with the capture of Saddam Hussein, and the details of how he continued to behave like top dog – even while in captivity – are worth tuning in for all by themselves. In Iraq, jubilation at Saddam’s capture steadily gave way to division around the elections, and the deadly rise of Al Qaeda in the country.
FIGHTING COVID Race Against The Virus: The Hunt For A Vaccine, 9pm, Ch4
THE story of the virus is told through the eyes of scientists (such as Oxford vaccinology professor Sarah Gilbert, pictured) for this documentary, which has the trappings of a thriller. What jumps out at you is that, whatever the failings of politicians around the world have been, the teamwork among scientists has been admirable.
WINNING WAYS Love/Hate, 10.45pm, RTÉ One
JOHN Boy is edgy at the best of times, but he seems to have lost his grip completely when he sees Debbie taking heroin and orders Darren to kill her dealer. However, pretender-to-the-throne Nidge is about to offer Darren a potential way out.

O Brother Where Art Thou, 9.30pm, TG4
VERY loosely inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, the Coen brothers’ musical comedy from the year 2000 stars George Clooney as one of a trio of convicts on the run in Depression-era America. The soundtrack alone to this is a real joy.
