CAROLINE Flack’s grieving mother has claimed the TV presenter’s relationship with extennis player Lewis Burton ‘did end her life’.

Christine Flack, 70, launched a scathing attack on Burton, 28, in Instagram comments after he was pictured with a new girlfriend.

Alongside a photo of Caroline and Burton sunbathing in August 2019, she wrote: ‘This relationship did end her life.’ She added: ‘Want this deleted so much.’

On another picture of Caroline and Burton together, she said of his new relationship: ‘He is now in the same pose different girl’.

Another Instagram follower commented: ‘He’s got a new gal and she’s dead. I honestly blame his womanising ways, poor Caroline.’ Christine replied: ‘I agree.’

Love Island presenter Caroline, who once dated Prince Harry, took her own life at the age of 40 in February. She had been due to stand trial for assaulting Burton.

Police called to her North London home in December and found the former Strictly Come Dancing champion naked and covered in her own blood after cutting her wrist on broken glass.

She pleaded not guilty and was due to stand trial on March 4.

Christine claimed Caroline could not face the ‘living nightmare’ of being branded an abuser and accused police and prosecutors of driving her to suicide.

At the inquest earlier this month she confronted Detective Inspector Lauren Bateman, whose objection to a proposal to give Caroline a police caution led

to the prosecution.

‘You should be disgusted with yourself,’ she told her.

‘This didn’t need to happen. That girl killed herself because you put an appeal through.’

Burton is currently on holiday in Ibiza with social media star Lottie Tomlinson, 22, who is the half-sister of One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson.

They are said to have grown close after both losing loved ones.

Ms Tomlinson’s sister Félicité, 18, died in March after an accidental drug overdose, three years after her mother died of cancer.
