Covid case at council childcare facility
A CHILDCARE facility that is owned by a county council has confirmed a Covid-19 case.
The community centre situated in a south Dublin suburb sent a letter to parents notifying them of an outbreak in the facility.
The community centre is owned by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and is managed by a voluntary board.
The large house facilitates a crèche, a playschool and an afterschool. A letter sent to parents, seen by the Irish Daily Mail, confirmed the facility had a case of Covid-19. ‘I am writing to confirm that there has been a confirmed positive case of Covid-19 in our setting and to assure you we are strictly following our response plan and all public health advice to minimise exposure and transmission,’ it read.
‘We commit to do everything possible to ensure that the best practise is maintained and strictly followed. We are also committed to confidentiality and will not be disclosing the name/names of any persons who have tested positive.’
The letter did not confirm if the positive Covid-19 case was in their crèche or after school facility.
