SHE conquered the World at the tender age of 19 – but for Rosanna Davison yesterday was the day she felt her heart ‘bursting with love’.

The former Miss World and her husband Wes Quirke joyfully welcomed their healthy new twin boys into their life.

Finally, after years of highlighting their struggles with fertility, they have three children, and this time she believes the relaxed l i fe of lockdown may have helped.

The model and businesswoman shared a picture of the new arrivals on Instagram yesterday.

The 36-year-old wrote: ‘Our beautiful and healthy identical twin baby boys, Hugo and Oscar, arrived safely into the world this morning and our hearts are bursting with love.’

She added: ‘Just like that, we’ve become a family of five and all our dreams have come true.

‘We’re deeply grateful to the wonderful, hardworking team at @nationalmaternityhospital for all of their kindness and support.’

The couple also have a daughter Sophia, who was born via surrogate a year ago. Rosanna has spoken in the past about her struggle to conceive, sharing details of her experience in the hope of raising awareness about fertility issues and helping those facing similar problems.

After suffering 14 miscarriages, she and her husband decided to go down the surrogacy route in Kiev in Ukraine.

While Rosanna stated that doctors could not explain how she had become pregnant with the twins, she believed that she had been ‘far more physically relaxed than I’ve been in years’ during lockdown, adding that ‘the slow pace of family life at home’ may have helped.

Rosanna’s fans and famous friends flooded her Instagram post with messages of congratulations, with model Nadia

Forde writing: ‘Oh my goodness welcome to the world beautiful boys. ‘Huge congrats! Well done mumma.’ Rosanna’s emotional pregnancy announcement during the summer took fans by surprise as they rushed to offer her well wishes.

She wrote at the time: ‘As I’ve spoken openly about this year, we struggled with 14 pregnancy losses over the past few years and a challenging fertility journey before welcoming Sophia last November by gestational surrogate.

‘I was told that I would probably never be able to carry my own baby due to a suspected immune system dysfunction, which numerous different medical treatments failed to rectify.

‘So for this to just happen naturally, and to have twins too by complete chance, is an absolute dream come true for us.’

The daughter of superstar singer Chris de Burgh previously opened up about her struggles to conceive, when the couple were expecting baby Sophia.

In a candid post in July last year, Rosanna announced she and Wes, who she married in the summer of 2014, were expecting a baby girl via surrogate after ‘a long and very tough journey for us, sadly with multiple miscarriages along the way’.

‘We’ve dreamed of being parents for many years and I would have loved to carry my own baby, but for reasons unknown (most likely embryo rejection due to an overactive immune system) and although tests show excellent fertility, I’ve been unable to sustain any of my pregnancies,’ she wrote.

The couple travelled abroad to use a gestational surrogate, meaning the embryo is created with the eggs and sperm of the parents before being transferred to the surrogate. She and Wes keep in touch with the surrogate to share moments in Sophia’s life.
