Our Normal People reunion ended up as drinking game
THEY sizzled on screen – but Normal People pair Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones got sozzled off screen when rewatching the racy show.
Mescal revealed that he and his co-star recently got together to rewatch the hit series in full... and it ended up as a drinking game.
The pair had been unable to watch the 12-part series, which aired on RTÉ and BBC in the spring, together due to lockdown restrictions.
But Kildare dreamboat Mescal, who has been named Breakthrough Actor of the Year at GQ’s forthcoming virtual Men Of The Year Awards, told the magazine that when they got to do it, the experience had been ‘very special’.
The 24-year-old said: ‘Last week we got together and watched the whole thing through. We actually ended up playing a little drinking game: every time Connell [Mescal’s character] wouldn’t complete a sentence or any time Marianne [Edgar-Jones’s character] would make an emphatic statement that made Connell uncomfortable, we did a shot... It was very special to get to do that with her. The thing we shared – will always share – is so unique.’
The GQ Men Of The Year Awards airs on British GQ’s YouTube channel this Thursday at 8pm.
