ALL FATS ARE BAD
DUE to their name, there is a lot of confusion that circulates fats. They should be treated just like any other macronutrient (carbs, protein) in your diet. We need natural sources of this nutrient for many bodily functions — hormone production, regulating body temperature, the growth of cells (hair, skin and nails). As long as we stay within our dietary guidelines, fat does not primarily contribute to weight gain, especially if eating healthy fats. So what are bad fats? Saturated and trans fats are considered to be bad. These lipids should be limited as much as possible in our diet. However, a bit of saturated fat is needed in our daily meals and enough is found in natural foods. So keep eating healthy fats — avocados, nuts, fish etc. Avoid fried food often and reduce trans fat foods — crisps, cookies, chips etc.
