Watch this space: Little Rocket Boy Adam back on Late Late

- By Louise Burne news@dailymail.ie

RYAN Tubridy has revealed the star of the Toy Show last week, Adam King, will return for tonight’s Late Late Show to fulfil a dream of meeting an astronaut.

After last week’s extravaganza, which was viewed by over 1.5million people, it will be business as usual tonight, with six-year-old Adam, the boy who captured the hearts of millions, returning for a special spacerelated treat.

The Cork schoolboy is set to meet and chat to Canadian astronaut, Chris Hadfield, on the show.

Adam, who suffers from brittle bones and uses a wheelchair, inspired the country when he spoke about his love of space and his dream of one day becoming a capsule communicator for Nasa.

He explained to Tubridy that even though he would not be able to be an astronaut in space due to his condition, he could still work for Nasa on the ground.

After seeing the clip on Twitter last week, Chris Hadfield tweeted: ‘Adam – I’ve been lucky enough to CAPCOM many spaceflights. We should talk space together. Take care, be good – Chris.’

Speaking on his RTÉ Radio 1 show, Tubridy revealed the first three guests for tonight’s show – President Michael D Higgins, musician Sharon Shannon and U2 bassist Adam Clayton.

But the Late Late has also managed to pull off a major coup for its country music special next Friday, December 11, as Tubridy confirmed the show has managed to secure the one and only Dolly Parton as a guest.

Tubridy explained to his radio listeners that the Late Late Show team has wanted to get the superstar on the show for the last number of years.

As well as being a renowned singer and songwriter, Dolly, like Ryan Tubridy, is a huge book fan.

She previously launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which is a book-gifting programme that sends free books to children from birth until they begin school. The scheme was launched in Ireland in early 2019.

Most recently, Dolly, 74, donated an astonishing $1million to the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine.

Tubridy could hardly contain his excitement as he told his radio listeners about Dolly Parton’s appearance on the show.

‘I’m very excited about Dolly Parton,’ Ryan gushed.

‘What she does for children, for books.. is just amazing. Her story is amazing, her voice is amazing and her talent is extraordinary.’
