IN 1993, the nurse Beverley Allitt was convicted of murdering four children in 1991 in a hospital in Grantham. This three-parter hears from the police who were on the case, from parents and from Allitt herself, via her chillingly calm interview tapes.

STRONGMEN such as Eddie Hall test their might against that of warriors of old in this new series. Knight Fight, in which people fight while dressed as knights, follows at 10pm – it’s also new, and is even more enjoyably ridiculous.

LION’S TALE Cecil: The Legacy Of A King, 9pm, Nat Geo Wild

CHRIS Packham narrates this new documentar­y, which kicks off Big Cat Week on Nat Geo Wild. It’s the sad but well-told story of Cecil, a 13-year-old lion who was a major draw at Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, until he was killed by a hunter in 2015.

UNSEEN ART Britain’s Lost Masterpiec­es, 9pm, BBC4

ART historian Bendor Grosvenor and social historian Emma Dabiri (pictured) reveal more surprising stories of art in storage in this new episode. Tonight, they are in Brighton, visiting the Royal Pavilion and inspecting paintings by unknown artists that tackle religious subjects.
