IN CALIFORNIA SUNSHINE, IT’S HARRY THE BEACH BOY
... while Queen and Charles turn their sunny side out in the UK
THESE images show the deeply diverging lives that Harry and his family lead since the prince upped sticks to sunny California.
Walking in the surf, wearing a backwards baseball cap, shades, teeshirt and shorts, Harry has clearly embraced the lifestyle in his new home.
The royal was pictured on a public beach near his family mansion in Montecito, Santa Barbara, on Wednesday, playing with his black labrador Pula as temperatures reached 27C. Harry, who has two jobs – one at a think-tank as a ‘commissioner on disinformation’ to fight so-called fake news, the other as ‘chief impact officer’ at a life coaching firm – was seen paddling in the Pacific while tossing balls for Pula.
A source told US celebrity magazine People: ‘He looked totally at ease. He has a great relationship with his dog, walking it off-leash. He looked just like a Montecito local just doing his thing – very relaxed walking barefoot.’
The 36-year-old and his wife Meghan, 39, have been living in Montecito since last summer after stepping back as senior royals. The couple – who are expecting a baby girl, while their son Archie will turn two next month – have signed multi-million-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Harry enjoyed the chilled lifestyle in California this week as a new image of the Queen and Prince Charles shows how much even a socially-distanced walk can mean in these still difficult times.
The pair were snapped together as they took part in a private engagement at Frogmore on the Queen’s Windsor estate, details of which will be released soon.
Mother and son appeared so happy and relaxed that when staff asked if they would pose for a handful of pictures, they agreed.
The Queen, who turns 95 later this month, looked radiant. Wearing one of her famed headscarves with a green, full-length raincoat and black rubber boots.
The Prince of Wales, 72, wore a brown overcoat, shirt, tie and brogues, and looked delighted to be with his mother.
The Queen and Charles enjoyed the stroll despite both being saddened by the acrimonious departure of Harry and Meghan as working royals.
A source said: ‘Although unplanned, this picture offers an insight into a family that is still together, happy and united after a difficult few months.’
