THERE are recipes for chocolate dishes in this new series, but also an enthusiast­ic dive into the mechanics of taste and more – it’s an odyssey of sorts, and one Khoo (pictured) clearly loved making. In this double bill, she makes chocolate cardamom meringues and chewy cookies.

‘RIVER-SEARCHING rookie’ Rick Edwards returns for a new series of digging history out of a variety of waterways. His first stop is Scotland’s River Garry, which has a curious distinctio­n: this is where grenades were first used on British soil, back in 1689, during the Battle of Killiecran­kie in

the first Jacobite revolt.

THESE raucous US animated comedies both return for new runs. In Family Guy, Peter takes a job as a nurse, then suffers a profession­al crisis when his nemesis is admitted. In American Dad!, the new season begins with Stan in Little Colombia, reflecting on a Miami Vice-style episode from his past.
