‘I’M RELIEVED I WON’T STAY IN A HOTEL’

-

‘I’M exhausted from the trip, but it was worth it because I couldn’t fathom spending two weeks in a hotel that would cost me nearly €2,000.

‘I work as an English language assistant in France which is part of an Irish Government scheme. I know that Erasmus students are exempt from the quarantine cost, but my particular programme is not.

‘All the schools have now closed, and we were allowed to go home if we wanted to, which was very good timing for me.

‘My dad booked a flight for me at a cost of €169 shortly after the announcement, but three hours later it tripled in price.

‘I’m just relieved that my journey is finally over, and I don’t have to worry any more about being forced to stay in a hotel.’
