She splits from fiancé (who gave her a €4.3m ring)
PROVING that money can’t buy you love, Jennifer Lopez has split from fiance Alex Rodriguez – who famously gave her a €4.3million engagement ring.
Announcing the separation two years after their engagement, they said they were ‘better as friends’.
It came weeks after they denied rumours they had parted because baseball legend Rodriguez, 45, had become close to reality TV star Madison LeCroy, 30.
Yesterday, they said: ‘We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.’
Hours before, Rodriguez shared a video with his four million Instagram followers of pictures of Ms Lopez, 51, and their respective children.
The singer and actress began dating ‘A-Rod’ in 2017. Their plans to wed last year were delayed by the Covid crisis.
Although Ms Lopez once sang, ‘Love don’t cost a thing’, it has cost her ex-partners millions in rings. Her first husband, Ojani Noa, reportedly spent six figures on a ring, as did his successor, Cris Judd.
Third husband Marc Anthony shelled out €3.3million, while Ben Affleck, to whom she was engaged, spent €2.1million. It is not known whether she’ll return her ring – thought to be up to 25 carats – to Rodriguez, now that the couple have revealed they will be going their separate ways.
