Sleuthing Seymour is Wild about her role in Irish mystery thriller

JANE Seymour is to star in a new TV mystery thriller set in Dublin called Harry Wild.

The Emmy and Golden Globewinni­ng actress, who starred in James Bond film Live And Let Die, The Wedding Crashers, and Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman, will play a recently retired English professor, who takes an active interest in the criminal cases assigned to her police detective son

The eight-part series, which premieres in 2022 on streaming service Acorn TV in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, will see her play Harriet Wild, who can’t resist being drawn into a baffling murder case being investigat­ed by her son, Charlie.

She uses her powers of deduction to solve the crime and finds a new passion for life in her retirement years.

Speaking about her role in Harry Wild, Ms Seymour,70, posted: ‘From the first moment I read the script, I fell in love with Harry Wild and am beyond excited to head to Ireland and step into the role of this very curious and passionate retired professor.’

The series will be co-written by David Logan, with Jo Spain, who wrote the RTÉ drama Taken Down and is the author of the bestsellin­g Inspector Tom Reynolds series and several internatio­nal No. 1 bestsellin­g standalone novels.

The directors of the new series are Ronan Burke, who previously worked on Red Rock, Damo and Ivor, and Jelly Baby, and Robert Burke. Morgan O’Sullivan and James Flynn will executive produce along with Ms Seymour.
