Country’s quarantine list grows

-

KAZAKHSTAN is the latest country to be added to Ireland’s mandatory hotel quarantine list. It comes after the country recently set a new record of nearly 7,900 daily Covid-19 cases.

From Friday, passengers from Kazakhstan who are not fully vaccinated will have to enter mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days. This will bring to 30 the number of nations from which passengers are subject to mandatory quarantine. However, if they receive a negative PCR test taken on day ten, the quarantine can come to an end on receipt of those results.

According to recent figures from the Department of Health, almost 9,000 people have entered designated hotels since the system was first introduced.

However, reports show that nearly 150 travellers had left hotel quarantine before completing their ten or 14 days of isolation; 34 of these later returned.
