ADAM ARMSTRONG
is set to have a medical at Southampton today after they agreed a deal with Blackburn worth up to £15million. After weeks of negotiations with the Saints refusing to meet Blackburn’s £20m price tag for the prolific 24-year-old striker, the two clubs reached a compromise yesterday. Armstrong has been lined up to replace Danny Ings, following the Englishman’s £30m move to Aston Villa last week. The deal could also see the Saints’ Republic of Ireland striker Michael Obafemi head to Ewood Park after Tony Mowbray confirmed his interest.
