Ricken is a runner in race to be Rebel boss
KEITH RICKEN has entered the race to become the new Cork football manager. The St Vincent’s clubman has been the Cork Under 20 manager for the past three seasons, leading the Rebels to All-Ireland success in 2019 and to a second Munster title this year. Despite initial reports that he was not interested in the position, he is set to be interviewed next week to succeed Ronan McCarthy and is expected to lean on a strong record of developing young talent. He faces competition for the job from frontrunner and former All-Ireland winning minor manager Bobby O’Dwyer as well as John Fintan Daly, who led Cork to an AllIreland U21 title in 1994 and has taken Knocknagree from junior to senior football inside three seasons.
