WHAT TO WEAR THIS WEEKEND
By Dinah van Tulleken
ELEGANT LEISUREWEAR
I FOUND it! Fashion’s Holy Grail. I’ve said this before, but this time it’s really true.
Joggers have been in fashion for a while, yet whenever I’ve attempted to wear them I look like a teenage boy heading to PE. Until now. I have finally found an elegant tracksuit.
SMART SHAPES
YES, athleisurewear sales may be up by 80 per cent, but it’s not easy to find something that is stretchy yet smart enough to wear in public.
Then along came Me+Em’s marvellous navy two-piece with wide-leg, elasticated palazzo pants and matching open-collar boxy jumper. The well-cut, sophisticated shapes lift this above the average loungewear.
FOR A WEEKEND AWAY
IF YOUR weekends are more exciting than mine and you feel a tracksuit is still too dresseddown for Sunday lunch, then can I at least talk you into a fancy two-piece for travel?
Cult pyjama brand Olivia von Halle has a silk-blend sweatshirt and track pant set for a mere €1,435 (net-a-porter.com).
LUXE BUT AFFORDABLE
IF THAT’S more than you spent on your air fare, then Chinti and Parker’s khaki green cashmere wide-legged set (€350 each for the top and track pants) is fun and more affordable. Alternatively, the always luxe White Company has a gorgeous organic cotton collared sweatshirt with matching trousers, and M&S has a fabulous cornflower blue set for only €27 (all pictured below).
