Murder On The Orient Express, 11.10pm, Film4

KENNETH BRANAGH sports an outrageous moustache as Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in this starpacked, action-heavy version of the Agatha Christie mystery, which he also directed. It’s the fourth screen version of Christie’s 1934 novel, and, like the first in 1974 – directed by Sidney Lumet, and starring Albert Finney as Poirot – the cast is packed full of acting greats (Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi, Olivia Colman – pictured with Dench) and rising stars (Daisy Ridley, Paapa Essiedu, Lucy Boynton). On board the famous trans-Europe passenger train, Poirot is called upon to investigate the murder of a con man and kidnapper whose crimes have led to no shortage of suspects.
