A FATHER of two from Donegal has become the third victim to die on Irish roads over the bank holiday weekend.

Tributes have poured in for 42year-old Jim Kenny from Malin Head, who died instantly following a two-car collision on a remote road between Buncrana and Carndonagh at around 10.50pm on Monday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene with his body transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem was carried out. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle was also taken to Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital.

The woman in her 30s is described as being in a ‘serious condition’.

Mr Kenny worked with HML Transport and was said to have been a passionate kayaker and music fan.

He is survived by his wife Caroline and two children.

One close friend expressed his grief on social media.

‘Such sad news, I had the pleasure of working with Jim last year, he was always full of joy and never without a smile on his face, even when we worked through the night. Condolences to his family and friends.’

Another wrote: ‘It’s a sad, sad day. A true honest friend, rest in peace Jim. You will never be forgotten,’ he wrote.

A grief-stricken friend added: ‘Very sad news. Jim was a lovely civil gentleman. RIP, so very sad.’
