HOLLY WILLOUGHBY and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff are on their marks to host this revival of the celebrity sporting challenge – the original series ran for four series on Channel 4 from 2003 to 2006, with Jamie Theakston overseeing proceedings. Twelve famous faces will strap on their trainers, pull on their swimsuits and get on their bikes for a week of fierce competition. Among those taking part are former Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kevin Clifton, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, singers Max George and Chelcee Grimes, Mel B’s daughter, Phoenix Brown, and Love Island and The Only Way Is Essex alumna Olivia Attwood. Having spent weeks in training with some top coaches to get up to speed in a range of sporting disciplines, the amateur athletes will be going head to head across five live shows each night this week, before one female and one male champion are crowned in Friday’s final showdown. There’ll be trackside reports from soccer player turned presenter Alex Scott, while Chris ‘Kammy’ Kamara (pictured, second from right, with, from left, Flintoff, Willoughby and Scott) provides the commentary. Tonight’s action comes from the National Sports Centre in London, where the women leap out of the starting blocks for the hurdles race, while the men swing into battle with the hammer. If you miss tonight’s show, it will also be airing at 9pm on Virgin Media One tomorrow.
