SAINTS STICK WITH RALPH

- ADRIAN KAJUMBA

RALPH HASENHUTTL retains the backing of Southampton chiefs despite some fans turning on the manager. Hasenhuttl was subjected to chants of ‘Sacked in the morning’ and ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ during the 3-0 defeat at Brentford last Saturday. It was an eighth loss in 11 games, a run including just one win that has seen Saints slide to 15th in the table. However, Hasenhuttl’s bosses intend to support the Austrian in any way he needs this summer. Saints and Hasenhuttl are working on strengthening the squad, with a new goalkeeper, centre back and reinforcements in attack. Southampton are interested in re-signing Chelsea loanee Armando Broja.
