TIPPERARY claimed the Munster MHC title when they beat Clare 3-0 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in last night’s final at the Gaelic Grounds.

The tie was all square at the end of the hour, 1-18 to 0-21, with Sam Rowan scoring Tipp’s goal.

Tipp sent the game to penalties with a Paddy McCormack free leaving it 1-22 to 0-25 after extra-time.

Meanwhile, Dublin and Kildare ensured it will be a repeat of the 2019 Leinster MFC final after the pair came through their respective semifinal clashes last night.

The Dubs, last winners of the competition in 2017, beat Offaly 2-13 to 2-4 while Kildare beat Wicklow 2-18 to 0-10. Joe Quigley netted the only goal of the opening period to give the Dubs a 1-5 to 0-2 interval advantage and David Mulqueen grabbed the Blues’ second on the restart.

Kildare were 1-11 to 0-2 up at the break in Newbridge courtesy of Ben Loakman’s goal and Killian Browne registered their second on the resumption.
