I’m a Barbie girl, in an inclusive world
A KEN doll with the skin pigment condition vitiligo is set to hit shelves next month as part of an inclusive range of toys.
Manufacturer Mattel has also unveiled a Barbie that uses a wheelchair, another with hearing aids and one with a prosthetic leg. The company says it hopes children will ‘understand and celebrate the importance of inclusion’. Male dolls have also been made less muscular and Barbies will have smaller chests and more curves.
