Barnes threw out an arm, it’s a clear penalty

TOTTENHAM were awarded a soft penalty against Arsenal last Thursday, but this one was straightforward and I’m surprised it wasn’t given in real time by Kevin Friend. Ashley Barnes’s arm is outstretched (below), he’s clearly making his body bigger. That makes it an easy decision for an official once the ball hits it. VAR Stuart Attwell did well to recommend a review to Friend so he could correct his error. Burnley complained but by the law this was a clear penalty.
