That’s because it’s Kenneth Branagh!
BEING a man who has been known on occasion to come up with his own version of reality, it’s no surprise that this photo of Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie is not all that it seems.
That’s because it is not in fact the British prime minister at all – but Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh in a new TV drama.
The remarkable transformations by the Belfast actor and director, 61, into Mr Johnson, and Ophelia Lovibond, 36, into Carrie Symonds, are seen in a new teaser for five-part Sky programme This England.
The production is an upcoming TV drama about Britain’s handling of the coronavirus crisis in 2020, which will premiere later this year.
Branagh is not the first Irish actor to make a stunning physical alteration to become a British leader – Brendan Gleeson won an Emmy award for his portrayal of Mr Johnson’s hero Winston Churchill in 2009’s Into The Storm.
