Cyber Hell: Exposing An Internet Horror, Netflix
WE NEED little reminding that there are corners of the internet that are a depraved cesspit, but this is, nonetheless, an important lesson in the dangers that the modern age brings. The ‘Nth Room’, an online network of paedophiles and other criminals in South Korea, used a messaging app called Telegram to share pornographic videos that women and underaged girls had been coerced into making. Access to the videos was often paid for using cryptocurrency, and the voyeurs thought that their anonymity was unassailable. Thankfully it wasn’t, and this documentary tells the reassuring tale of how determined journalists, cops and a student group proved otherwise.
