WAGATHA CHRISTIE IS A WARNING TO OUR HIGH-PROFILE LIBEL LITIGANTS

WAYNE and Coleen Rooney, pictured, practically danced out of the London High Court, this week, looking like they’d already had a verdict in their favour in the Wagatha Christie case, and it’s hard to blame them for their optimism. It appears that Rebekah Vardy, who cried so much in the witness box that proceedings had to be repeatedly halted, may have bitten off more than she could chew when she sued Coleen for defamation over a trivial slight. Let’s hope her mauling serves as a warning to other highprofile libel litigants closer to home – having your ‘day in court’ on a point of principle may not be quite the cakewalk you’re expecting…
