An age-old tale... Martin piles on the decades for latest TV role

-

WITH his balding crown and wrinkled brow, Martin Freeman’s look seems far more Hobbit than Hollywood.

Freeman, 50, has piled on the decades to play billboard painter Harold Wallach in fivepart drama Angelyne. The series, which will be streamed on Now TV, looks at the rise of mysterious singer Angelyne Lyne, who skyrocketed into the spotlight when pictures of her were hung up around Los Angeles in the Eighties. The show stars Emmy Rossum as Angelyne, along with Hamish Linklater, Lukas Gage and Alex Karpovsky.

Freeman, who starred as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit films, aged by three decades for the role.
