Tom’s Mission Impossibaaale

Superstar’s filming is brought to a halt... by a flock of sheep

- By Paul Revoir

BY HOOK or by crook, Tom Cruise always manages to overcome any obstacle as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible films.

But the Hollywood star may have felt sheepish when a flock halted production of a new instalment being filmed in England.

Cruise and the crew were forced to take a break on the set of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, after the sheep headed towards the filming area in the Lake District.

According to reports, the sheep began eating grass close to a marquee producers had set up. Cruise, 60, was seen smiling at the surprise visit and according to US news broadcaster Fox News he made space for the animals to pass through. His character in the hit spy film franchise is an agent for the Impossible Missions Force (IMF).

The actor, who is famed for doing his own hair-raising stunts, was also seen parachuting from a helicopter as he filmed scenes for the blockbuster, part one of which is due for release next summer.

He wore a black jumpsuit while attached to a royal blue parachute and performed a series of twists and turns before making a smooth touchdown on the grassy fields.
