Who wouldn’t want Maura in their corner?

WE always knew Maura Higgins was not one to stand back if she felt wrongdoing was happening. Let’s not forget her time on Love Island, where she called out Tom Walker for making a mysognistic comment – of course blowing his chances of romance with the Longford beauty. And this week, she proved that her lack of tolerance for bad behaviour remains, when she turned up at her nephew’s school on hearing that he was being bullied. The 31-year-old shut down the bullies by making sure she was on pick-up duty and posted about why on social media. ‘When you get a phone call to say he’s been bullied at school yesterday... so you make sure you’re on the school pick-up today...’ she wrote on a video to Instagram stories, adding ‘Remember kids, be kind’, with the disclaimer: ‘PS. I’m not a regular aunty, I’m a cool aunty!!!’ She certainly is and who wouldn’t want Maura, above, fighting their corner! Fair play to her for standing up for what is right once more.
