Why I’m fired up on radio

MY debate about Chelsea owner Todd Boehly — and whether Thomas Tuchel should have been sacked — with Simon Jordan on our talkSPORT show this week was my most enjoyable yet. Simon and I agree on a surprising amount, though we will have our moments. Meanwhile, co-host Jim White is sitting there with a rather large can of petrol, just topping up the fire occasionally. When you’re a manager in a press conference after the game has just finished, you’re vulnerable because your emotions are not quite where they should be and you know journalists are trying to get a headline out of you. It’s like that with Jim: an endless supply of jerry cans under his table. I’m really enjoying it.
