Brosnan: Woman, 55, is stalking me and my family at our home

- By Adam S Levy

PIERCE Brosnan has asked a Los Angeles court to issue a restraining order against a woman he says is stalking him and his family at their southern California residence.

The Irish actor, 69, said in legal documents that the woman, 55, has been staying outside his Malibu, California home in a vehicle.

‘She has been stalking me and my family,’ said the James Bond actor, who also told the court that, on two occasions, he had to contact authorities with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to remove the woman from his property.

Mr Brosnan said that officials were not able to take the woman into custody for being outside his property and advised him to seek a civil restraining order which, if approved, would make her actions chargeable.

The GoldenEye star also named his wife Keely Shaye Smith, 59, and their sons Dylan, 25, and Paris, 21, in his bid for an emergency temporary restraining order against the woman.

The Remington Steele actor told the court about the bizarre behaviour of the woman in question.

‘She originally said she was looking for Dick Van Dyke (she has a tattoo of him on her arm) but when she found me and my family, she stayed in front of our house,’ Mr Brosnan said. ‘She gave me two odd notes, said she needed $1,500 for new tyres, and gave me a drawing she did of me.’

The court granted Mr Brosnan an emergency restraining order and informed the accused stalker she is not to contact the actor or his family ‘directly or indirectly’ or ‘harass’ them.

She must stay at least 350 metres

away from Mr Brosnan’s home as well as any schools or workplaces his children might be at.

A hearing on the matter is set for October 25, when it will be determined if the woman is given an extended order that could last up to five years.

Mr Brosnan lives with his second wife, Keely Shaye Smith, whom he married in 2001. He is also father to Seán Brosnan, whose mother Cassandra Harris died of ovarian cancer in 1991.

He adopted her two children, Christopher and Charlotte, who also died in 2012 from the same disease that killed her mother.

Mr Brosnan and his youngest sons, Dylan and Paris, recently posed for a joint photoshoot for GQ UK, where the young men discussed what it was like to grow up with James Bond as their dad.

Despite being most known for his role as 007, Mr Brosnan has limited interest in who will follow Daniel Craig in becoming the next James Bond.

‘Who should do it? I don’t care,’ Mr Brosnan said. ‘It’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be. Whoever he be, I wish him well.’

GQ UK noted that Mr Brosnan said this with ‘a tone that indicates it’s maybe not actually that interesting’.

The actor continued: ‘I saw the last one, and I saw Skyfall. I love Skyfall. I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. But…’ he trails off.

Among those rumoured to be in the running for the iconic role are fellow Irish actors Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan, as well as Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.
