ARSENAL MOVE AHEAD IN RACE FOR FRESNEDA

■ ARSENAL have overtaken Newcastle United in the race to sign right back Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid. His agents are due to conduct further talks in London next week ahead of a potential £8.8million move. Arsenal ideally want to sign cover before allowing Cedric Soares to join FULHAM.

■ VALENCIA have made a fresh move to prise Facundo Pellistri from MANCHESTER UNITED on loan.

■ LIVERPOOL are unlikely to make a play for CHELSEA midfielder Mason Mount. They are prioritisi­ng summer moves for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Wolves’ Matheus Nunes.

EVERTON are expected to sign 25-year-old forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal. Danjuma (above) was due to make the final decision on his future last night. NEWCASTLE are to test Everton’s resolve to keep Anthony Gordon this week.

■ ATLETICO MADRID are trying to convince LEICESTER to sell Turkey centre-back Caglar Soyuncu this window.

The Turkey centre-back was already set to join Atletico as a free agent in the summer but the Spanish giants are keen to get a deal done now, as they look to offload Felipe to WOLVES. Leicester have looked at STOKE CITY’S Harry Souttar as a replacemen­t.

■ LEICESTER forward Ayoze Perez is closing in on a loan move to Real Betis. The Foxes expect to confirm the signing of Danish left-back Victor Kristianse­n for £17m from Copenhagen.

■ BOURNEMOUT­H have asked about a loan for Roma left back Matias Vina, 25.

■ TOTTENHAM target Nicolo Zaniolo has been left out of Roma’s squad to face Spezia as he looks to resolve his future. Roma are willing to accept a loan with an obligation to buy for £35m.

■ WOLVES have been asked to increase their bid for Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes as Lyon have made a better offer.

■ CRYSTAL PALACE goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has signed a contract extension until 2024.
