Here they go again... Lily James turns to Dr Who ex for comfort after love split
FOLLOWING the breakdown of her most recent relationship, Lily James seems to have turned to a previous partner for comfort.
The actress, 33, was pictured hugging her ex, former Doctor Who star Matt Smith, after reportedly splitting from US rocker Michael Shuman.
Smith, 40, who dated Ms James for five years, smiled as he waited for her outside a cafe in Primrose Hill, north London, with his dog.
Ms James was dressed casually in black trousers and a floral jacket, while Smith was wearing a long black coat.
The couple met in 2014 on the set of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, in which Smith played Mr Collins and Ms James was Elizabeth Bennet.
The pair split in 2019 owing to ‘hectic’ work schedules, but the first Covid-19 lockdown saw them briefly rekindle their romance while isolating together in north London. Their latest reunion followed reports that Ms James and Queens of the Stone Age musician Shuman had ended their two-year relationship. ‘Lily and Michael have grown apart in recent months and have now decided to end their relationship,’ a source told The Sun on Sunday. Shuman was first pictured with the actress while she was filming rom-com What’s Love Got To Do With It? Their relationship came months after pictures were published of a flirtatious display between Ms James and married actor Dominic West in Rome. Speaking previously about her reluctance to publicly discuss her love life, she said: ‘If you’ve never said anything, there are no sound bites to haunt you when you’re crying into a box of Kleenex after it all goes wrong.’
