Golfer Rory McIlroy aces rich list in the North as he hits a net worth of €265m
GOLFER Rory McIlroy has been named as the wealthiest young person in the North of Ireland on the Sunday Times Rich List for 2024, just days after filing for a divorce.
The golfer’s net worth has rocketed to €265million, after a €30million soar in the past year. However, the 35-year-old’s worth could be chipped away after the end of his sevenyear marriage to Erica Stoll was confirmed this week.
Details of his split from Stoll were revealed in court papers filed in Florida, outlining that a shared custody and a parenting plan was to be established for their daughter, Poppy – and the papers also indicated that the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement.

The world number two was adding to that total this week, as he netted another €3.3million for winning the Wells Fargo Championship last Sunday. However, the five-shot win came too late to be included in this year’s rich list.
He was seen still wearing his wedding ring during the Quail Hollow event last weekend, but was without it on his finger during practice for the PGA Championship earlier this week.
The pair share a stunning €20.2million mansion on 2.4 acres of highly desired land and is believed to have ten bathrooms in addition to its nine bedrooms.
It also boasts a luxury infinity pool, as well as a games room, tennis court, home theatre, recording studio and state-ofthe-art gym – as well as room for six cars in the garage.
McIlroy purchased the Jupiter,
Florida, home inside the guard-gated Bear’s Club golf community from golf legend Ernie Els in 2011 and is now worth double the amount that he paid for the property. The native of Holywood, Co. Down, is thought to own lavish homes in La Quinta, California, New York and Dubai. As well as a 19th century mansion near where he grew up.
Stoll and McIlroy tied the knot in 2017 after meeting at the 2012 Ryder Cup, while Stoll worked for the PGA and McIlroy was still dating tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
Their daughter Poppy was born in 2020 and remains at his Florida home while McIlroy is in Louisville, Kentucky, competing at the PGA Championship. McIlroy, a four-time major winner, has won the PGA Championship twice: in 2012 and 2014.
