‘Thieves’ torch car packed with gifts

ARSONISTS burned a car packed with Christmas presents, a distraught mum revealed yesterday.

Deborah Mcbay and her three children had a lucky escape after the vehicle went up in flames causing scorch damage to their home in Derry’s Temple Park area.

It was set alight in the early hours of Sunday morning. Neighbours raised the alarm and the Fire Service dealt with the blaze.

Ms Mcbay said: “A neighbour told me he captured the two boys on camera trying to get into cars in the street and when they couldn’t get in they burned it.”
