One direction star heading home for Christmas despite pressures

- BY KATHY ARMSTRONG

NIALL Horan has revealed he struggles to relax when he’s home in Ireland.

The One Direction singer is planning to spend Christmas in his hometown of Mullingar, Co Westmeath, but admits he finds Ireland can be very “small.”

The 23-year-old said: “I’m going to head home and chill out as it’s been hectic the past few months.

“I haven’t been home since last Christmas so I miss everyone and hopefully this year I’ll get to spend some quality time with family and friends.

“I really do wish I could spend more time at home but with Ireland as small as it is I struggle to completely relax.

“So fingers crossed because I miss that place a lot.”

While Directioners might get a glimpse of the star while he’s home, Niall plans to disappear for a while in the New Year to concentrate on making music.

He added: “After Christmas I’m going to fall off the face of the Earth and do one of my disappearing acts. I want to WITH their moody stares into the camera, these monkeys could be auditioning for a boyband.

But in their rush to get in shot, the fab five black crested macaques, who are familiar with humans, seem to squash the come up with more song ideas and get back in the writing zone.”

The Best Song Ever hitmaker was speaking to his fans in an open letter on his website, www.niallhoran.com.

He has been busy over the past few months promoting his debut solo single This Town and penning his album with little rest on the horizon.

He said: “Next week on the 13th I’ll be going on Jimmy Fallon, big fan of unfortunate sixth member of their group at Tangkoko National Park in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Photographer Anup Shah, of Chippenham, Wilts, said the group are called Rambo 1 by researchers.

Good name for a boyband... Jimmy. So looking forward to seeing him and maybe doing a little exploring around New York.

“I will also be doing the Iheart Radio Jingle Ball.

“Looking forward to getting out and seeing some of you guys, even if I only have one song and an acoustic guitar.”

He also told his followers about how his new album is going.

Niall said: “We set up shop in a couple of different studios with a lot of history.

“We record everything from scratch, all of the music is recorded live with a full band with me singing in the room.

“I’m currently eight songs deep and ready for more.”
