TV3 presenter Karen Koster has said she never aspired to crack the UK or US and has no regrets about staying with the station for 12 years.

The Xpose star, 35, joined the broadcaster in 2004 as a weather presenter on Ireland AM before landing her dream job on the entertainment show in 2007.

The mum of two told the Irish Mirror she never wanted to be “a tiny fish in a massive big pond”.

She said: “I got a good break with TV3 and I wasn’t going to go anywhere.

“They’ve been really good to me and I’ve loved working there. I’m too much of a home bird as well.”

After the show’s revamp, Karen revealed all involved are “upping their game”.

She added: “We’re hoping to deliver a really polished, glossy show.” A FAMILY’S beloved dog has been found dead with his tongue cut out, stomach sliced open and hair blackened by fire.

Gizmo was discovered by his owner Bobby Katus stuffed under a tyre on waste ground in Co Wexford after he went missing for a few days.

His grand-daughter Symone said the distraught 66-year-old is in shock and hasn’t been able to sleep since.

She added: “It is sickening. My grandad is heartbroken. He just can’t believe it.

“The way he was found was the most disturbing part and to think my grandad had to see him like that.”

“It wasn’t an animal it was a human who did this as the cut was so clean. Hunters take the tongue as a trophy.

“It’s also the fact my grandad had to carry his little best friend away in a black bag, like a piece of rubbish.”

Mr Katus and his wife Sheila had 14-year-old Gizmo since he was a puppy.

The much-loved pet went missing from their home in Priory Court, New Ross, last Wednesday and the family searched everywhere for him.

Finally a friend went with Mr Katus to Hewittsland on Saturday night where they found his pet in an horrific state.

The animal’s remains were hidden under a tyre. He had been covered in motor oil in an attempt to burn him, gutted from top to bottom and his organs torn out. His tongue was also removed.

GUARDED

Symone, 23, said: “Gizmo was not only a dog, he was my grandparents’ best friend.

“He guarded the house, ready to protect my grandparents from anyone he didn’t recognise.

“He lay on his little cushion on the sofa happy to just be in the company of my nanny and grandad.

“He was getting old and we all knew it. We wanted his remaining time to be comfortable.

“We’ll all eventually come to terms with what happened but I don’t think I’ll ever forgive anyone for how upset my grandad is.”

Symone added they have been buoyed by the community’s support.

She said: “It’s heart-warming. People are saying they have lit candles for Gizmo.

“It felt like we were on our own and this was something that happened to us in isolation but now we feel like everyone is behind us.”

Sgt Eddie Wilde added gardai are investigating the “malicious” killing and appealed for witnesses to contact them.
