Anger at Government delay in new school builds

The 35-year-old TV producer was upset at the criticism of her and husband Ronan’s lifestyle after she shared a photo of the youngster on a plane.

The six-month-old has already travelled with his parents to destinatio­ns including Australia, Greece, Ireland and the Netherland­s.

Replying to the comment on her Instagram account, Storm said she and Ronan do “whatever it takes” for their baby son.

Education and Skills Spokesman Thomas Byrne spoke out after it was revealed the constructi­on of 21 premises earmarked for 2015 is yet to begin. He said: “The Government announced to much fanfare back in December 2014 that a number of new schools would be built across the country in order to meet rising demand as a result of demographi­c changes.

“The Government indicated that constructi­on of these schools would get under way in 2015.

“However, new informatio­n shows that constructi­on hasn’t even got under way at a number of these schools, meaning it will be years before they are actually up and running.

“In some instances a site hasn’t even been selected yet. In many other cases the project work is at a very early stage and the delivery of a new school remains a long

“Many students are being taught in overcrowde­d classrooms which is having a detrimenta­l impact on their education.

“Teachers are also being forced to rely on substandar­d resources due to a lack of space.”
