for almost a year. The world No.9 (below) used both his own betting account and also a third party’s but a hearing concluded there was no evidence of corruption.

Lennox Lewis was the last undisputed champion 17 years ago and sits alongside legends such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, George Foreman and Joe Frazier.

Joshua unified the IBF and WBA Super belts against Wladimir Klitschko and promoter Eddie Hearn has big plans for 2018 after Saturday’s defence against Carlos Takam at Cardiff ’s Principality Stadium.

Hearn has pencilled in three fights for the unbeaten Joshua next year, including unification clashes with WBO champ Joseph Parker and then WBC king Deontay Wilder.

“We could fight Parker in February or March, so Anthony could have the WBO and then it’s only one more,” he said.

“Providing everything is OK, the aim is to fight three times next year. We’ve only boxed twice this year, which has worked out OK because the Klitschko fight was huge. But ideally, February or March, summer and then December. That would be nice. In a perfect world, two of the three fights would be for additional belts. “We’ll also have to fight a WBA mandatory next year, in February, March or in the summer.”

Hearn also wants the Ring Magazine belt last held by Tyson Fury and claims Joshua can win it if he beats Wilder.

“I applied for the Ring Magazine belt for this fight as I believe they’re going to make the title vacant,” added the Matchroom MD. “But the only way they’ll give that up is for Anthony to fight Wilder as they’re one and two.”

Fury remains in Joshua’s sights, even though there is little prospect of the former WBA Super, IBF and WBO title holder – who has ballooned in size – ending his 23-month exile from the ring.

But Joshua, 28, said he would face him if he made a successful comeback.

“What was his fighting weight, 18 stone?” he said. “Even if he comes back at 22 stone – Foreman came back bigger than that when he was in his prime.

“If he wants to fight and gets his licence at 30 stone, 40 stone even, and he shows he can move and control that weight he’s morphed into, people will watch him.

“But if he comes back at that weight and he’s getting in trouble against journeymen, then people won’t be interested.”
