Security is a shambles at US airports
It wasn’t long ago America was on the verge of implementing a global laptop ban for all passengers travelling to the States by air.
In the end, 10 Muslimmajority countries were affected by the move seeing computers and other large electronic devices prevented from being in the cabin.
Instead, the US demanded all other nations increase their security screening causing further delays at already overstretched airports.
But what is good for the goose is clearly not good for the gander as America’s own airport security screening has been proven to be shambolic.
All those pat-downs by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) you’ve been subjected to are simply security theatre.
EXPLOSIVES
News out of the House Committee on Homeland Security recently found agents missed four out of every five of undercover testers mock guns, explosives and knives.
The TSA announced it’s taking the findings “very seriously” and “implementing measures that will improve screening effectiveness”.
The current detection rate is unacceptable. As it stands it is one less worry for a prospective terrorist.
Currently, all the TSA appear to be is a
$7.5billion year bill you help pay for and the infliction of pointless delays and inconvenience on travellers.
America has no right to demand special treatment for itself when the reality is they afford very little protection to others.
