NOW WE CAN CELEBRATE LIKE MADD

-

NORWICH star James Maddison revealed just how relieved his side were to finally end their poor run of form.

Maddison was on target as the Canaries ended a seven-game winless league run.

They came from behind after trailing to Jordan Rhodes’s effort at the break – Maddison levelled and a goal from Timm Klose and a Nelson Oliveira penalty sealed victory.

Maddison (above) said: “When you’re on a run like that, you just can’t see a win coming. It’s been a long time coming but it will give us a lift now.

“It’s easy to go 1-0 down and just fold but we came back out and everyone was fired up.

“We haven’t been good enough at home and we’re the first ones to hold our hands up.

“We all want the same goal here and we’re all trying to achieve the same goal. It was a great performance from us. The second half was one of the best 45 minutes this season, definitely.

“The way we worked, the way we pressed, and the way we got in their faces, even though we were a goal down, was fantastic. We pushed and ground out the three points today. It was deserved.”

Owls have won only six of their 21 Championship games this season and fans chanted for boss Carlos Carvalhal to be sacked. Next up are table-toppers Wolves.

He said: “Now it’s a case of focusing on the next game which, like all games, we will be going all out to win.”
