Best pals mur and caroline fall out after X Factor fiasco

- BY NICOLA METHVEN

FORMER X Factor frontman Olly Murs is locked in a bitter feud with fellow flop host Caroline Flack.

The pair, who became pals while hosting ITV2’S Xtra Factor, were judged disasters when they took over from Dermot O’leary on the main show in 2015.

They recently unfollowed each other on Instagram – as Olly prepares to return to TV on The Voice alongside Simon Cowell.

Pals say their bust-up happened after Murs grew tired of Flack pushing the romance angle when there was nothing between them, while she is bitter at taking more blame for the X Factor blunder.

One friend revealed: “Despite both of them recovering professionally with new stints on hit shows Love Island and The Voice, personally they have never been able to bounce back from co-hosting The X Factor.

“Both found the experience really strained their relationship. In fact they were so close when Olly was offered the chance to replace Dermot, he said he’d only do it with her by his side.

“It didn’t help that afterwards it seemed like Caroline bore the brunt of the negativity.

“A few weeks ago they were both in Los Angeles for meetings and had nothing to do with each other, despite being in the same venue at one point.

“It’s a real shame as they were genuinely the closest of friends. Hopefully they can patch things up again now Olly is back on telly, putting his X Factor ghost to rest.”

In the wake of the pair’s fallout, the family of charttopper Murs have also unfollowed Flack.

It’s a real shame because they were the best of friends
