RED BULL SOAPBOX

DAVE, 6pm More thrills, spills, custom carts and crashes as this series about wacky races bows out for the final leg of the tour.

And this time it’s a French farce from the streets of Paris as rival teams of amateurs pit their bizarre, inventive, gravity-powered soapbox vehicles in a downhill race against the clock.

Whether it’s a realistic replica or something conjured from the imagination, this is fun to watch. What soapbox would you make?

PRIDE & PREJUDICE

DRAMA, 11am Well, bonnets and breeches, our hearts are already racing at the mere thought of Mr Darcy emerging dripping wet from that lake.

This is the drama series from 1995 that sent millions of women into ecstasy over Colin Firth.

The swooning period drama, based on the classic Jane Austen novel, also stars Jennifer Ehle, Julia Sawalha, Alison Steadman and Anna Chancellor. The ultimate romcom.

GAVIN & STACEY

DAVE, 8pm It’s hard to believe this hit comedy, penned by James Corden (just look at him now) and Ruth Jones hit our screens 10 years ago. And it’s still just as funny.

A triple bill kicks off the third and final series, with Gavin (Mathew Horne) starting a new job and Stacey (Joanna Page) thrilled to be home.

But the best scenes involve Corden and Jones as their mates Smithy and Nessa, truth be told. Tidy, that is.

DAVID JASON: MY LIFE ON SCREEN

GOLD, 9.30pm Sir David Jason’s career makes for lengthy and fascinating reading, so we’ll forgive the slight self-indulgence of this trip down memory lane.

The actor revisits key people and places that influenced his many roles.

In this final instalment, as he moved from sitcoms to dramas such as The Darling Buds of May and A Touch of Frost, Sir David visits the Buds’ farm, meets up with Pam Ferris and Philip Franks, and even has a video chat with Catherine Zeta-jones.
