SONNE RISING
Hoops striker Ed is the hero of the hour at Paradise
CELTIC’S three musketeers might have kept the celebrations low key after flying the French flag over Ibrox – but there might have been a fair few folk getting plastered in Paris.
Old Firm heroes Odsonne Edouard, Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham were the toast of the green half of Glasgow after dishing out a dose of Les Blues to Rangers on Sunday.
Dembele purged another derby goal, Ntcham ran the show and Edouard stole the show with his sensational winner as the 10 men took a huge step to making it seven titles in a row.
Hoops fans have been raving about the Parkhead French revolution and it’s not going unnoticed back in their home town after a video of the three of them celebrating Sunday’s thrilling 3-2 win in the car went viral.
Edouard said: “After the victory, we all celebrated together in the changing room and then later on that night I had some dinner with my friends, but I didn’t do anything too special.
“I had some friends at the game in the stadium but all my family and friends were back in Paris and watching the match on TV.
PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE
the £7m option to buy him out his PSG contract has gone from looking a hefty outlay to a potential bargain.
Edouard said: “I’m delighted about the victory. What was especially important for me is that it was my first derby, so to score the winning goal was very special.
“I’m a striker, time I get a goal I’m really happy. It was a very important game and one of our biggest matches of the season, so I was thrilled to score.” GRAEME MURTY has urged his Rangers players to silence the critics and ensure their Old Firm derby setback does not derail their recent improvement. The Ibrox club went into
Sunday’s encounter against Celtic in confident mood and in search of their seventh victory in a row.
But they missed the chance to cut the deficit at the top of the Premiership table to three points, falling to a 3-2 home defeat despite Brendan Rodgers’ side being reduced to 10 men just before the hour.
With Celtic now nine points clear with a game in hand, any hopes Rangers had of sparking an unlikely title race have now vanished. And Murty (left) aims to make sure Alfredo Morelos (inset) and Co show resilience after Sunday’s blow.
He told Rangers TV: “I said to the players, every man and his dog will be telling us everything that we did wrong and all the players aren’t good enough and loads and loads of stuff from the outside coming in.
“We have to be strong and make sure we go on another run again and prove those people wrong.”
