Amy and Brian out of ruck this time around

- BY MIKIE O’LOUGHLIN

AMY Huberman and Brian O’driscoll have been left off the guest list for Saturday’s royal wedding.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will tie the knot in front of a huge crowd of 600 guests, but Ireland’s own “royal” family have failed to make the cut.

Speculation suggested that Amy and Brian would be among the invitees after they were asked to attend Kate and William’s big day just over seven years ago.

The invite is the mostcoveted of the year in high society with millions of people expected to tune in to see them become man and wife.

A representative for Amy and Brian confirmed to the

Irish Mirror they didn’t receive a nod on this occasion and they will not be travelling to

England for the big day.

Huberman, best known from starring in RTE dramas The Clinic and Striking Out, attended the last royal wedding alone because her husband was unavailable because of Leinster’s semi-final Heineken Cup game against Toulouse at the time.

She joined the likes of David and Victoria Beckham and Joss Stone for the spring celebrations.

Brian’s glittering rugby career with Ireland and Leinster sparked a friendship with Wills due to his role as Vice Royal patron of the Welsh Rugby Union. Ahead of Kate and William’s nuptials, he said: “It’s quite the honour and a lovely surprise for us to have been even considered.” Coverage of the royal wedding will air on RTE and

TV3 this Saturday with Evelyn O’rourke, Maura Derrane and Darren Kennedy providing the commentary for the national broadcaster.
