Group of youths ‘key’ to solving murder
THE suspect in the Cameron Reilly murder is being protected by a group of teenagers, it has been claimed.
Sources said the callous killing was perpetrated by a boy who was drinking with the victim and pals.
The source added: “The key to this crime rests in that community and in that group of teenagers.
“One of those holds the secret to what happened to Cameron.
“A number of teenagers have been spoken to but there might still be some withholding information.
“There has been great co-operation but a lot of people have shied away from talking – for whatever reason.” It is believed the teen was socialising with a number of people aged between 15 and 24 on the night of the incident.
The source said: “The theory is Cameron had a very close relationship with a number of girls.
“A dispute broke out between Cameron and this young thug over girls.
“It is thought one have critical evidence. “Investigators are very close
Cameron Reilly of them might to solving this crime. They are awaiting some forensic results but it is looking like they are getting close to an arrest.” Sources said the young suspect has been living Co Louth for some time.
One added: “There is some talk he may have family links to a number of people who are associated with violent elements of the Republican movement.
“There is no connection to the activities of those groups but the teenage killer has a serious problem with his temper.”
Cameron, 18, was found dead in a field near Dunleer, Co Louth, on May 26.
He was discovered by man walking his dog and a postmortem later revealed he was strangled to death.
